Jakarta – Mauritius

Join an adventurous sea voyage across the Indian Ocean! For the very first time, Statsraad Lehmkuhl will cross the Indian Ocean on a unique trip from Jakarta to Mauritius. 23 days at sea with lots of sailing and expected temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees.

A part of The One Ocean Expedition, Statsraad Lehmkuhl´s first circumnavigation of the world.

Jakarta – Mauritius is the ideal voyage for everyone who want to experience beutiful days on the open sea under good sailing conditions. The Indian Ocean is the third largest of the world oceans. There will be many wonderful nature experiences. Of course we hope to see lots of wildlife along the way! Other than that, we expect to encounter very few, or perhaps no other, ships along the way. We are simply alone in our own, harmonious world out there on the great ocean!

Departure city: Jakarta

More and more adventurous tourists are finding their way to Jakarta, which is the capital of Indoneisa. With a population of 30 million, Jakarta is Southeast Asia's largest urban area and one of the world's most densely populated urban areas. The coastal location far south of the equator creates a tropical climate, which means that Jakarta has an average temperature of over 25 degrees all year round.

Port of arrival: Mauritius

Once in the island state of Mauritius, you can go ashore in a tropical paradise with chalk-white sandy beaches, turquoise blue sea, beautiful coral reefs and swaying palm trees. Perfect for a romantic getaway with lazy days, great food and beautiful sunsets.

NB: 50% discount on the next leg Mauritius-Maputo, if you buy a ticket to Jakarta-Mauritius!

Magic nights at sea

The days at sea will be an adventure for everyone who love nature, unity and sailing. But the nights on board a large sailing ship are a very special experience. Standing at the helm under a crystal clear, quiet starry sky in the middle of the sea, far away from the noise and lights of the land, are beautiful moments that creates memories for life.

With no internet or phone coverage, the voyage  also becomes a long and long-awaited "detox" from everyday focus on digital accessibility. (Of course: The ships´s crew has a satellite phone for communication and safety purposes.)

Our own little world at sea

During the crossing of the Indian Ocean, the people on board will create their own small community out at sea. We sail the ship together and share the wonderful moments with each other. Far away from the rest of the world, we get plenty of time to sail, relax, learn good seamanship, talk to each other and "find peace". The trainees and the ships´s crew become a team when we sail. Everyone stands up for each other, pays attention and takes care of each other. Close ties and lasting friendships arise on such a wonderful journey. Surrounded by the sea, a unique unity is created on board that becomes part of you, even long after the journey is over.

Everyone can sail with us!

Do you lack experience with sailing? No need to worry! You do not need any previous knowledge or experience to join a voyage with Statsraad Lehmkuhl!
